What Is a Dragonfly Delivery Service Provider (DSP)?

Dragonfly Delivery Service Providers are the local companies responsible for getting packages to your door. Here is everything you need to know about what a Dragonfly DSP is, how the model works, and why Jaatram Logistics is one of Canada's most trusted DSPs.

What Is a Dragonfly DSP?

A Dragonfly Delivery Service Provider (DSP) is a business that has entered into a formal contract with Dragonfly to handle last-mile delivery from Dragonfly's local stations to customers' homes and businesses. DSPs are not Dragonfly employees. They are independent companies that operate their own fleets, hire their own drivers, and manage their own day-to-day operations while meeting Dragonfly's performance standards.

Jaatram Logistics is a certified Dragonfly DSP operating across Ontario, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. We have been delivering for Dragonfly since 2022 and have grown to become one of the most trusted DSPs in the country.

How Does the DSP Model Work?

The DSP model was created to build a network of local delivery businesses that could operate more flexibly and efficiently than large national carriers. The idea is straightforward: local companies know their markets better, can hire local drivers, and can respond to community-specific challenges more effectively than any national operation.

Under the DSP model, Dragonfly provides the technology platform, the delivery volume, and the performance standards. The DSP provides the vehicles, the drivers, the local infrastructure, and the operational management.

Becoming a Dragonfly DSP is a competitive and rigorous process. Dragonfly evaluates applicants on a range of criteria including their understanding of logistics operations, their financial stability, their ability to manage a team, and their commitment to Dragonfly's safety and service standards.

What Does a DSP Actually Do?

On a practical level, a DSP like Jaatram Logistics is responsible for everything that happens between the Dragonfly delivery station and the customer's front door. This includes staffing and training delivery drivers, maintaining a fleet of vehicles in safe and reliable condition, planning and executing delivery routes, meeting Dragonfly's delivery accuracy and safety standards, and handling customer delivery issues that arise in the field.

It is a significant operational responsibility. Our team of 140 professionals and 12 supervisors works seven days a week to make sure packages arrive on time and in perfect condition.

Performance and Accountability

Dragonfly monitors DSP performance closely. Metrics like on-time delivery rate, customer satisfaction scores, delivery attempt success rate, and safe driving behaviour are all tracked and reported. DSPs that underperform risk losing contracts. DSPs that consistently deliver high quality service earn the opportunity to expand to new stations.

Jaatram Logistics maintains a 4.9-star Google rating, which reflects the care and professionalism our team brings to every delivery. Since 2022, we have completed more than 6,000 deliveries across our service areas, and we have grown from a single station in Brantford, Ontario, to nine stations across three provinces.

Our Fleet and Technology

A modern DSP operation depends on the right equipment and the right technology. Jaatram Logistics operates a fleet of 106 vehicles, including 6 BrightDrop electric vans that we deploy on urban delivery routes. These electric vehicles reduce our environmental impact while delivering strong performance on dense residential routes.

Our drivers use Dragonfly's driver app to manage routes, scan packages, upload delivery photos, and communicate with dispatch. Every vehicle is GPS-tracked, giving our supervisors full visibility into the operation at all times.

Our Growth Story

Jaatram Logistics began in 2022 with a single Dragonfly station contract in Brantford, Ontario. From that founding contract, we grew steadily, adding stations, hiring drivers, building our supervisory team, and expanding our fleet. Today we operate across nine Dragonfly stations in Ontario, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick, serving hundreds of communities.

That growth has been driven by one thing: consistent performance. Every time we have met Dragonfly's standards, we have earned the opportunity to grow. And every time we have grown, we have brought the same culture of care and professionalism that started in Brantford to our new markets.
